FAQ
I coined the term “First Gen Feeler” and created a definition for it, as it appeared to be the population I had been working with more and more. First Gen Feeler: One who is part of the first generation in their family to actively pursue their own healing, feel their emotions, and/or break unhealthy patterns that have been passed down for generations.
Credit Card, Debit Card, FSA (flexible spending accounts), HSA (health savings accounts), and/or utilizing out of network benefits to assist them with payment.
I am an in-network provider with Aetna and offer superbills for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement. Benefit of Private Pay: this choice allows me to provide more personalized care without the constraints and limitations often imposed by insurance companies. Many clients prefer not to have their mental health care controlled by their insurance companies. They want the freedom to choose their therapist and the duration of their therapy without needing to justify it with a diagnosable mental health issue to their insurance. While therapy is a confidential space, some clients prefer to exclude their insurance company from the process entirely.
A consult is a chance to meet to see if we would be a good fit to work together. We get to discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you might have. It’s also a chance for you to ask me any questions you have about the process. My aim is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel safe and heard. This is a simple ~20 minute meeting via phone or video (whichever option you feel most comfortable with). A consult is NOT a commitment to therapy, and it’s free.
Typically, sessions are around 50 minutes long. The frequency of our meetings can vary based on your needs and goals. Some clients find weekly sessions most helpful, while others may prefer bi-weekly or monthly appointments. We’ll work together to determine a schedule that works best for you.
Therapy can be a gradual process, and progress might not always be immediately visible. We’ll regularly check in on your goals and how you’re feeling about the work we’re doing together. Open communication is key, so let me know how things are going and if there are any adjustments you’d like to make.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please let me know as soon as possible. I typically request at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. This helps me manage my schedule and offer your time slot to others who might need it.
I work with those who feel the definition of “First Gen Feeler” resonates with them (see first questions for definition). And have worked with a range of issues including (but not limited) to personal growth, relationship challenges, boundaries, being the first in your family to be setting boundaries and breaking unhealthy generational patterns. If you have a specific concern or goal, let’s discuss it in our sessions to see how we can address it together.

Coaching: Coaching is more about looking forward and reaching your goals. It’s like having a guide to help you improve your skills, achieve personal or professional goals, and make positive changes in your life.
